Fallout 3 Impression

Been playing Fallout 3 over the past week and must say it is one amazing game. This game is very similar to Oblivion, but with guns and it really creates one hell of a game. I’ve only done few of the main story missions, I’ve had a ton of fun just exploring.

As someone who hasn’t played earlier versions of Fallout the VATS aiming system is really a lot of fun. Shooting someone right in the head gives you a great gory kill you would expect in a game. Overall it feels like Oblivion, Bioshock, and Stalker combined into one; which is an experience no one should miss out on.

Saints Row 2 Review

Saints Row 2 is a sequel to Saints Row where you arrive at a hospital in prison after waking up from a coma which you get put into in the first game. Compared to the first game, there is a lot more stuff in this game, more activities, more missions, more cars (and planes!), more action, and more weapons. When you awake you are met by someone who breaks you out of prison which eventually leads to you becoming the leader of the saints and “owning” Stillwater.

You no longer own the church in the game (and never do) because it belongs to the Ultor corporation which is taking over the city. One thing I must say that this is NOT Grad Theft Auto IV, don’t expect amazing graphics or incredible AI, this is like GTA on cocaine. That said, it is still a very good game though, all the activities and missions all feel fresh and are a lot of fun. The whole game will take you about 25 hours to beat but thats not including finishing all the activites. Much of the fun I had was playing coop which you can play every mission and every activity together and adds new elements for the 2nd player rather then rehashing the original activity. Coop and vs multiplayer are totally different though, coop is little lag and you can roam the whole city while the versus is laggy, in a small level and overall not a lot of fun. Overall the game is a lot of fun and I think it’s worth playing atleast once.

Spore Impressions

Your first impress of spore will be wow, this is the most amazing game I’ve ever played. Then as the game progresses your opinion will drop lower and lower. At the first stage (the cell stage) the game is very solid and the creature stage has a few flaws but is still good fun. But as the game goes on it just feels more flawed, especially after playing through once. All the objectives are the same except for 1 tweak such as impress/kill this group. The last stage (space stage) can be some fun trying to get new tools but it envolves doing the same things over and over to get money to buy these tools.

You can beat the game in about 5 or 6 hours and in about 3 hours if you have played before. As a whole the game did not live up to what is should have been and is way to goal oriented to make a lot of fun out of it.

Call of Duty 4 Impressions

Call of Duty 4 is one of the games you need to get. With such a great multiplayer and singleplayer everyone should get this game. The multiplayer is amazing, getting XP for killing enemies which unlock new guns. The singleplayer game offers amazing AI and some great scenes and all the levels feel unique. Overall it is an awesome game that has no co-op or split screen online but it still is fun and feels fresh.

Too many games, not enough time.

If you haven’t noticed, there have been great games coming out lately, such as Galaxy, COD4, Assassins Creed. But why, the hell, do they have to come out in the same frickin month! All through the summer I was looking for a great game, all I found were mediocre ones until Bioshock. Why do companies have to release all the games I want in such a short time peroid? I bet you money if I asked the bastards themselfs they would say, “But,but, but Christmas” You know what? FUCK CHRISTMAS, I GAME ALL YEAR AROUND. Where the hell was Call of Duty 4, and Mass effect when I was bored out of my mind all summer?

Now you might say. Dante, what happened if those games weren’t done in the summer. You know what I would say to you? Bull$hit. Do you really believe, Rock band, GH3, Mass effect, Super Mario Galaxy, Assassins Creed, etc. all happened to wonderfully be complete right before Christmas. Bullshit my friend.

What I’m trying to say is, I know companies love to have their AAA tittles all released right before Christmas, so parents can buy it before everybody figures out it is complete and utter shit. But would it really kill them to give us something decent during the summer, you known, when I don’t have school.

Mario Galaxy, 1 hour impression

Just got Mario Galaxy for Wii, and this is definitely the best looking Wii game to date, and brings old memorys of Mario 64 back. The game starts of with Peach getting kidnapped blah blah and you have to save her. Instead of walking through castle doors you are on a planet getting to new planets through the observatory. The game really achieves the feel of gravity for each planet, letting you orbit small ones. I don’t have too much else to say, just go out and get the game.

Update: Just beat the game (get 60 stars) which took about 2 days. After that you need to get 120 stars to complete the game fully. The game is great and right now is the highest reviewed game to date.

Manhunt 2

A new Manhunt 2 trailer (trailer #3) has been released and the game looks crazy. From being rated Adult Only in the summer and now turning into a Mature game, this could become one of the most violent games ever. I can’t wait to see how they use the controls of the Wii. It is going to be available on Halloween which is a perfect date for the psychotic game.

Portal GOTY?

Well, lately I’ve been noticing all the fanboys talking about how their game is going to win the Game of the Year award. This of course is natural, seeing how that November( aka gaming month) is only a couple days away. So, I have seen people say that Bioshock,Galaxy, Halo 3, and Mass effect are going to win GOTY, but it got me thinking what about Portal? Now I know the game is short, and it comes as a pack in with Half-Life 2 and Team Fortress, but I have yet to see one person who didn’t love portal.

Now as much as I like Portal, I still think it has many contenders for GOTY. I’m not stupid. and I doubt that any serious gaming editorial publications(such as Gamespot, and IGN) are going to give Portal the Game of the Year award because it’s not a stand alone game. Though with that said, Portal is one of the most refreshing games I have played in recent memory.

If you don’t have the Orange Box, I recommend that you play the flash version on our website.
